Drawer box width subtracts the required slide clearance on both sides of the finished opening.
box_width = opening_width - 2 * side_clearance
Depth and height
Box depth subtracts front setback and rear clearance from cabinet inside depth. Box height subtracts top and bottom clearance from the opening.
Part-size boundary
The output is a first-pass box part list. Dovetails, rabbets, lock joints, undermount slide notches and manufacturer hardware details can change final cuts.
